We are at our best when we collaborate and work together. Part of that is realizing that it is normal for each of us to ask for help when we need it. I am here to support you through the difficult challenges you face, centering your experience and what is most important to you. My background in community mental health has shown me that providing a safe, open, and secure space for exploration is crucial to moving towards healing and resolution. My primary approach is psychodynamic talk therapy. This can involve seeing how past relationships and events form templates for the ways in which we move through the present.
My approach also involves forming words around our thoughts and feelings – seeing how they interact with how we are in the world while building up new avenues to find resolution to our issues. I incorporate interventions from other modalities such as Mentalization-Based Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to personalize treatments to your individual needs. While learning healthy coping strategies and reducing symptoms can be important, understanding what those symptoms tell us about our lives and how we relate to it offers an opportunity for lasting change.
