Farah Jahan, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#120575) in the State of California

Are you struggling with depression and anxiety? The weight of cultural expectations and figuring out your identity? Interpersonal issues and self-esteem? Stress from trying to find balance and meaning in your life? Whether you are new to therapy or revisiting, welcome to this new chapter in your journey of healing and growth. I strive to create an environment where you can safely lean into difficult feelings and process your past and present without shame or judgment. Together, we’ll work towards fostering greater self-awareness, building coping skills, and developing a deeper sense of self-acceptance and empowerment.

I have been dedicated to the mental health field for over 10 years, operating in various settings from community mental health clinics to schools, crisis lines, and research labs. I truly believe in our human capacity for positive change and growth, and therapy’s effectiveness in being a part of that change.

In addition to building a strong therapeutic relationship, some of the work we do together may include:

  • Trauma-informed interventions
  • Art and narrative therapy for creative and emotional expression
  • Practicing somatic techniques
  • Cultural and/or spiritually-sensitive approaches
  • CBT strategies

My own mental health journey began as an adolescent and led me to experience the benefits of receiving therapy and to eventually become a therapist. I view individuals and their struggles through the lens of intersectional identities, community, and systemic issues. I incorporate evidence-based practices with any traditional or spiritual frames of reference the client chooses to bring into the therapy space.
