Gabby Higareda Chavez, ASW

MA in Social Work, California State University, East Bay & Pre-licensed Social Worker in the state of California (#95805)

Bienvenidos! I am a bilingual and bicultural Spanish speaking therapist of Mexican descent with experience working with a diverse, multicultural population in different settings (schools, juvenile hall, in-home, dialysis, outpatient clinics, psychiatric facility, etc.) I obtained my Master’s Degree in Social work from California State University, East Bay. My primary goal is to support my clients in their journey towards self-love, healing and growth.

I have a passion for working with teens and adults who are suffering from drugs and alcohol challenges, severe mental health needs, crisis management and those with critical medical conditions who are having a difficult time adjusting.

My approach is warm, authentic, non-judgmental and empowering. I consider our therapeutic relationship as one of the most important factors for healing. Finding a therapist who you connect with is extremely important. I prioritize making my clients feel heard, understood and validated. I meet clients where they are at in their process. I strongly believe my clients are the experts of their own lives and I am simply there to help support them through their journey.

I individualize treatment goals and modalities based on clients needs (i.e. culture, religion, background). I work within a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens. I utilize evidence-based practices, such as cognitive-based therapy and mindfulness-based therapy. I am certified in Mindfulness-Based Substance Abuse Treatment (MBSAT).
