Michael White, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of California (85366)

Life carries challenges for everyone, and everyone will have times in life where they could use support navigating those challenges. I am legally blind without my contact lenses and needed a lot of such support growing up. I was fortunate enough to have it, and it is important to me to do what I can to make sure other people do as well. As a therapist, I believe in meeting people where they are and having therapy be a collaborative process. Interpersonal connection between client and therapist is paramount to me, and I do my best to foster a therapeutic relationship in which people feel heard, respected, and empowered.

My key therapeutic modalities include:

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness Therapy
  • Trauma-Informed Therapy
  • Brainspotting
  • Client-Centered Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing

I have experience working with a diverse array of people from varying ages, sociocultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds as well as with the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. My primary areas of therapeutic focus include:

  • Trauma/PTSD
  • Anxiety/Panic Disorder
  • OCD
  • Depression
  • Grief
  • Survivors of community violence/gang involvement
  • Survivors of sexual assault/sexual exploitation
  • Substance Abuse/Dependency
  • Adjustment Disorders
  • Disordered Eating
  • Disordered Sleeping
  • Chronic Pain

I strive to create an environment of collaboration, comfort, and respect with those I work with. Everyone’s experience in life is unique, and I look forward to learning about yours.
