About CBT-I

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)  is an evidence-based treatment for adults with sleep issues including insomnia. Research suggests CBT-I can improve 75-80% of insomnia symptoms and reduces or eliminates sleeping pill use in 90% of patients. Some research has even shown CBT-I to be superior to sleeping pills. There are no side effects of CBT-I as there are with sleeping pills and the intervention has the potential to maintain improvements in sleep long-term. Some research also suggests that CBT-I can be helpful with other mental health issues, such as depression, substance abuse, and PTSD. CBT-I is a recommended evidence-based treatment for insomnia by the Society of Clinical Psychology, division 12 of the American Psychological Association. Learn more here.
