About You
We are seeking applications from motivated professionals with qualified mental health and SUD treatment experience who will act as a hub/coordinator of treatment for our adolescents and adults who are on Medi-Cal and qualify for treatment under Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery Service (DMC-ODS) in Marin and Northern California rural Counties.
The candidate will provide traditional case management, direct SUD counseling, and coordinate the management of all of our group and individual programming Family Spring and related partners (Marin County Probation, Drug Medi-Cal, etc.). The ideal candidate will bring their unique history, skills, and approach to the work and be committed to ongoing learning and improvement. We welcome applicants with personal histories of struggle (Justice-Involvement, SUD, and/or mental health histories) that have influenced their transformation and work as a professional.
Alongside having relevant expertise and a curiosity to grow as a clinician, the preferred candidate will be technology friendly and welcome opportunities for growth within the company.
About the Position
This is an hourly position and is .6 FTE (24 hr/week) position with the possibility to go full time for the right candidate. This position will be approximately 60% direct counseling work, 40% administrative/coordination work and including the following duties and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Weekly duties include:
- A general schedule approximately 11am – 7pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (1-2 groups facilitated per week; 8-10 individual sessions per week)
- Coordination of all care between Family Spring and its referral partners (e.g., attending MDT / care meetings, communicating with new clients about getting setup in our EHR, meeting with / communicating with client probation officers, attending weekly care coordination meetings, being a point person for Family Spring with the probation department, etc.)
- Attending monthly provider meetings and acting as the Family Spring point person with the County
- Track progress of group-based programs, and all the youth participating in them.
- Maintain all clinical documentation using our HIPAA compliant electronic health record (EHR; see below).
- Maintain all programmatic documentation (i.e., program certificates, participation data, etc.)
- Attend and participate in individual and group case consultation with the clinical director/supervisor.
- Attend and participate in monthly, 1-hour in-house training.
Send questionnaires to clients and review them to promote patients’ healing. - Maintain coordination of all programming, and serve as an aid to clinicians as the primary therapy treatment provider to young people
Other duties:
- Attend work reliably and arrive on time consistently.
Respond to patients’ (and/or their caregivers, probation officers, etc.) requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the Family Spring website. - Respond to such requests by meeting with, evaluating, and providing services to such patients.
- Communicate with a patient’s treatment team (i.e., therapist, probation officer, school counselors, pediatrician, primary care physician, psychiatrist, school, probation officer etc.) as necessary.
- Use online EHR to complete written records for each patient including, but not limited to intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Family Spring or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient in a timely fashion (by Friday of each week).
- Keep patient files accurate and up to date.
- Conduct and organize therapy services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the goodwill and reputation of Family Spring.
- Be respectful and collaborative with co-workers.
Tend to other important duties which may be assigned by Family Spring.
Minimum Qualifications

Relevant Experience:
- Have active and unrestricted pre-licensed registration (AMFT, ACSW, APCC, pre-licensed PhD/PsyD), and in good standing, with your appropriate California governing body (BBS or BOP), or be very close to obtaining such certification, OR be fully certified as an SUD counselor from a state approved agency.
- Must be able to pass a background check / livescan and be approved by the probation department.
- Have a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or a related field from a regionally accredited school.
- Have documented expertise and training doing clinical work with teens and/or adults with mild to moderate mental health conditions.
- Have a minimum of 1 year of direct services with these populations. (This can include practicum and internship experience).
- Be available from 11am – 7pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
- Be available for weekly individual and group supervision.
- Maintain consistent self-care practices.
- Be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual and able to communicate with monolingual families speaking Spanish
- Have an active and unrestricted license (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist), and in good standing with your appropriate California governing body (BBS or BOP).
- Have specialized training and/or certification in treatments with our patient population (e.g., ACT, EMDR, SUD training, trauma-specific training, mindfulness training, etc.)
- Have specialized training and/or certification in treatments adjacent to our patient population (e.g., couples therapy).
- Have documented expertise and training doing clinical work with teens/young adults with mild to severe trauma/mental health conditions and their families.
- Have documented expertise in working with juvenile justice-involved populations
- Have an affinity for technology.
Schedule
- 11am – 7pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Compensation
- Compensation: $38 – $44 per hour ($79k – $91k FTE)
