Like a lotus flower, sometimes it can feel like we’ve come from the murkiest water, but we can grow into our best selves. Growth is possible. We may need support along the way to help guide us through this process. My strength as a therapist is empowering individuals, helping them draw on their strengths and heal holistically. I specialize in working with preteens, adolescents, and adults considering traditions, cultural and spiritual beliefs, and sexual identity. With more than 11 years of experience, I am confident I can support you in achieving your goal(s).
I have a strong background in supporting the recovery process with individuals with forensic mental health challenges, crisis management, severe and persistent mental illness, life adjustments to critical medical conditions, and individuals with drugs and alcohol challenges. I enjoy working with preteens and youth with challenging emotional and behavioral issues.
My approach is client-centered and grounded in trauma-informed, evidence-based practices including but not limited to cognitive-based therapy, insight-oriented therapy, mindfulness-based therapy,
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy. I focus on client-centered care with an emphasis on the strength-based approach. I strive to create a comfortable and nonjudgmental environment where you and I mutually develop an individualized plan to achieve your goals.
In times of stress, I believe that therapy can be one of many effective tools to help one get their life back on track.
