MA in School & Professional Clinical Counseling, University of San Francisco & licensed in the state of California (#9658)

In life we often encounter painful, overwhelming, or negative experiences that we didn’t want nor ask for. Whether it is a medical or mental health diagnosis, or trauma that we feel has marked our lives, I seek to help guide others along this path on their own terms. Despite the often frustrating nature of human life, there is always room for thriving. I use a multi-modal approach to address various needs, leverage strengths, and empower the individual.

I have worked in a variety of settings including middle and high schools, residential treatment facilities, and in the community to help meet clients where they are at and feel the most comfortable. Past clients include adults and youth on the autism spectrum, teens who self-harm, adolescents and adults with substance use issues, as well as those with significant trauma that has provided me with a broad spectrum of skills and experiences.

Some of the things I treat include:

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Psychotic and related issues
  • ADHD
  • Trauma
  • Autism Spectrum and developmental concerns

Studies show the most important factor for healing in a therapeutic setting is the alliance between a therapist and the client. I endeavor to be as open and authentic as I can to help others access strengths, confidence, and the motivation for change and wellness. Because no two clients are the same, my approach is often multi-modal and can include a variety of interventions:

  • Learning coping skills for anxiety
  • Mindfulness to reduce the impact of negative thoughts
  • Art therapy to access neglected emotions
  • Identifying values
  • Using narrative and story to examine trauma
  • Practicing social skills
  • Speaking to oneself compassionately
  • Imaginative and in the moment exposure to address phobias
