MA in Social Work with a focus on Community Mental Health, California State University, East Bay & Associate Clinical Social Worker (#87150)

We can all benefit from support at times as life can be unpredictable, challenging and joyful. I am here to support you through your journey while battling life’s many challenges such as depression, interpersonal relationships, anxiety and symptoms of PTSD. As a Black male clinical social worker with over 8 years of experience, I have worked with adults challenged by severe mental illnesses, youth and families in various settings such as schools, criminal justice systems, community mental health clinics, and hospitals.

I have experience providing therapy to youth, families, adults and groups with a trauma-informed lens while utilizing various modalities such as acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and mindfulness practices. Rather than focus of deficits, I prefer to focus on your strengths, resources, and talents as a means to further enhance your abilities. My goal is to collaborate with you as we explore and experience various frameworks to mitigate emotional stress and overcome barriers while pursuing your goals.

Challenges I have expertise with:

  • Anger management
  • Anxiety
  • Behavioral challenges
  • Coping skills
  • PTSD
  • Dual Diagnosis
  • Substance Use
  • Depression
  • Adjustment issue/ Life Transitions
